Sometimes it’s easier to download a TED Talk as an MP4 than to watch it online through our streaming video player. The TED.com website offers two different ways to find and download a crisp and watchable video file of your favorite talk. One method allows you to download a video with automatic subtitles in English and several other languages. The other method quickly connects you to our largest high-res downloads to watch offline later, as well as our most lightweight download size.
Method 1: Subtitles. Every Talk page contains a Download button. (You can see that button in the screengrab above.) Behind this button is a download that comes with your choice of subtitles in English or any of up to 100 languages. You can also download with no subtitles at all, of course. Downloads are usually in our 480p file size; an 18-minute talk is about 140 MB.
Method 2: Small/medium/large files. If you already know the talks you want, head to our Quick list page and choose your talk and your preferred download size: Low, Medium or High. To give you an idea of file size, a typical 18-minute talk at low-res is about 20MB, a regular file about 40MB to 45MB, and high-res is about 140 MB.

The biggest billboard in Times Square right now belongs to Google, announcing the new Nexus Player. A hockey puck-size device, it runs Android TV, which plays movies, TV and music — as well as games, apps and, ahem, TED Talks — on your television screen. Hence why, on this massive billboard, you can see our name and logo pop up occasionally.
Our Android TV app shows the full library of TED Talks — all 1,900+ of them, with subtitles — and offers a cool little feature: Watch Anything, which picks a great TED Talk for you at random. Or you can use voice search within the app to find a talk that interests you.

This reminded us: There are actually several ways to curl up in your living room with TED on TV, using gadgets you already own or might be eyeing. For those who’d rather go big and stay home, here are some options for your TED viewing pleasure.
Method 1: Download TED talks via the official TED website If you just want to download single or no more than three TED videos now and then, you can download them directly from their official website. It is the simplest way to download TED videos from the TED site. Every Talk page contains a Download button. Some of the world's greatest musicians and researchers showcase the power and science of music onstage at the TED conference, TEDx events and partner events around the world.
Apple TV
TED’s new Apple TV channel is designed for idea binge-ability. You can browse our full collection of talks, with subtitles, by what’s new or what’s trending, as well as by topic or by rating. You can also check out our expanding collection of 200+ playlists — when you finish one, another is instantly queued up for you. But perhaps the coolest feature: Apple TV syncs with your TED.com profile, so you can tag talks throughout the day to watch later at home.

Xbox One
On the Xbox One, you can play a TED Talk with a wave of your hand—you control our app with Kinect’s gesture recognition. (Voice commands work, too.) You have access to our library of talks, and you can also check out our playlists, like “How does my brain work?” and “Unsolved mysteries.” Hope to download cd on macbook air 13.3.

The Roku streaming player has an impressive variety of channels. Look for TED under the Science & Tech category — but do not fear, you can watch all of our talks on any topic you like.
Google Chromecast
The Chromecast dongle is handy and cheap — just $35. You plug it into an HD TV and control it with your smartphone, tablet or computer. TED just released Chromecast support too — so if you update your iOS or Android app, you can zap TED Talks from your device to your television and enjoy them there.
